Join People First of Corvallis, a welcoming and inclusive self-advocacy group for individuals in the intellectual and developmental disabilities community. This monthly meeting provides a safe space to connect, share experiences, build skills, and advocate for positive change together. Meetings are held on the fourth Friday of each month from 5:00–6:00 PM at the Corvallis Community Center (Oak Room), 2601 NW Tyler Ave. The space is ADA accessible, and snacks and drinks are provided. This inclusive event welcomes self-advocates—individuals who receive (or are eligible for) Oregon Developmental Disabilities services—and anyone who wants to connect, build community, and create positive change. OSAC Monthly Advocate Meetings Join OSAC for Advocate Meetings held on the first Friday of every month from 2:00–4:00 PM. Each month alternates between two focus areas—giving participants consistent opportunities to both connect and build knowledge: Connection & Education (July 3, September 4): Strengthen your advocacy skills while connecting with and learning from advocates across the state. Policy & Legislative (August 7): Stay informed on policy and legislation, ask questions, and deepen your understanding of systems impacting your work.

Celebrate summer at the Marion County Fair, returning to the Oregon State Fairgrounds in Salem from July 9–12, 2026. This beloved annual event brings the community together for four days of fun with live entertainment, carnival rides, 4-H and FFA exhibits, contests, vendors, and classic fair food favorites. From animal exhibits and hands-on activities to main stage performances and family-friendly attractions, there’s something for all ages to enjoy. Special themed days, live music, and nonstop activities make it a perfect outing for families, friends, and community members alike. Fair hours vary by day, with festivities running Thursday noon–10 PM, Friday and Saturday 10 AM–11 PM, and Sunday 10 AM–6 PM. Don’t miss this chance to celebrate the “Made in Marion” spirit and experience one of the region’s favorite summer traditions. Please note that there is an admission cost (about $6, plus parking), but you may be able to find a deal or special!
Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their caregivers are invited to come learn, create, and find community! Programs for Accessible Learning (PAL) lasts one hour and usually follows this schedule: Sensory-friendly storytime with puppets, songs, and bubbles (15 minutes) July's themed group activity: Learn about Disability Pride Month, participate in a guided chair dance party, and celebrate with some cake or sugar-free treats! (20-30 minutes) Creativity stations (adult coloring pages, Lego building) (15-20 Minutes) All materials provided. Registration is required. Please register each participant. Participants are asked to attend with a caregiver. An American Sign Language interpreter will be present whenever possible. Free. This program is supported by the Salem Public Library Foundation and the Friends of the Salem Public Library. This event will be presented in English.
