Learn how to budget, save, build credit, and protect yourself from fraud—all while keeping your benefits safe. The first class, How To Make a Budget & Save, will be held Tuesday, June 3. Click here to register. Learn the basics of budgeting and saving, including strategies to save without impacting asset restricted benefits. Leave knowing how to make a budget, what to do when you have limited resources, and with tips to overcome common spending pitfalls.   • Community Conversations with ODDS (Virtual)

    Join ODDS leadership on Zoom to share your feedback and experiences. All are welcome to attend these virtual meetings. Each month will have a different topic or focus. They meet every first Wednesday of the month from noon to 1 p.m. No registration required. These events are facilitated by the new Partnership and Accessibility Resource Unit. Date: June 4th Time: noon to 1 p.m. How to attend: Use this link to open the Zoom meeting. They also invite you to send your questions or feedback ahead of time using the feedback form. You can fill it out in Arabic, English, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Spanish and Vietnamese. Deadline: Please send your questions by 8 a.m. on the Monday before the meeting. You don’t have to submit a question to attend the meeting. You can also ask new questions during the meeting. If they can’t answer your question during the meeting, a staff member will get back to you via email. If you want privacy, you can also ask them to respond by email.

This course features a video of local youth who shared personal insights and practical information to help your family plan ahead to protect your loved ones during an emergency.   • Disaster Preparedness for Parents with Disabilities Webinar (Virtual)

    People with disabilities are often excluded from conversations about emergency preparedness. This includes parents with disabilities who need to keep themselves and their children safe during a disaster. Join Brandeis University as they learn from Shari Myers and Melissa Marshall from the Partnership for Inclusive Disaster Strategies. They will discuss emergency preparedness best practices for disabled parents and their families. Shari and Melissa will talk about building a realistic emergency kit, sheltering in place while disabled, and knowing your rights as a disabled person during a disaster. Attendees will also hear from two National Research Center for Parents with Disabilities' Advisory Board members, Judy Brown and Morénike Giwa-Onaiwu, about their personal experiences with emergency preparedness and disaster response.
