Oregon Council on Developmental Disabilities presents a DD Awareness Month event: a Virtual Self-Advocacy Panel Discussion Tues, March 17, 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM, or Tues, March 24, 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM Discussions will center around “Nothing About Us Without Us,” highlighting advocacy and meaningful representation by people with IDD in all spaces where decisions are made, and address barriers. This unique event, which focuses exclusively on films that celebrate the diverse lives and creativity of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), strives to challenge assumptions and breakdown stereotypes. By introducing thought-provoking, powerful films to inclusive audiences, we hope to promote acceptance, celebrate differences and shine some light to help make the invisible, visible. Join Essential Services for a fun afternoon at the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport. This event is open to everyone in the I/DD community and is free to attend. Please note, you must arrive by 12 pm to gain admittance. Essential Services will not be providing any food or drinks for this event.
