  • Special Olympics Oregon Summer State Games (Corvallis)

    A weekend filled with competition, camaraderie, celebration, and sportsmanship. The Summer State Games are the state championships for athletics (track & field), bocce, golf, and softball for Special Olympics athletes in Oregon.  This is a great chance to cheer on your fellow athletes and watch some amazing games! All athletes and Unified partners train in their hometowns for a minimum of eight weeks and qualify to compete at the Summer State Games through regional-level competitions held around the state. This will take place in Corvallis Oregon, at OSU and surrounding venues. Delegates are housed in the campus dorms at Oregon State University. Special events will include Olympic Town festival areas, health screenings, Law Enforcement Torch Run Final Leg, the parade of athletes + opening ceremonies, a victory dance, and a Saturday night delegates dinner. More specific details and daily schedules will be shared as the event nears. Check out the event website to stay up to date.   • Beach Buddies Lunch and Learn (Newport)

    You're invited to join Beach Buddies and the Arc of Lincoln County for a free lunch and learn! They will be learning about local sea birds, local plants at the Yaquina Head Lighthouse, seals, whales, and so much more. This event is open to adults of all abilities, aged 18 and older.     SPARC is a self-advocacy group based in St. Helens. This month, they will bring in a local fitness expert with an engaging, interactives session designed to get you moving and grooving, no matter where you are on your fitness path. The fitness expert will demonstrate a variety of exercises that you can do anywhere, at home or in the gym, with options for every fitness level. Register here! They'll also dive into: Setting achievable goals that actually stick. The magic of consistency and how to make it your superpower. Cultivating a positive mindset that makes fitness fun, not a chore. The crucial role of nutrition in fueling your fitness success. Pro tips for staying motivated and kicking those common obstacles to the curb!

  • NeuroConnect (Scappoose)

    Neuroconnect is a "Neurodiverse Community Alliance" for children and families with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They offer support groups for 12-17 year olds, 18-25 year olds, and Caregivers and Adults. Free dinner, childcare provided, and transportation assistance provided! 1st hour is for dinner, the 2nd hour is spent in age divided support groups discussing topics advocated for by members such as navigating friendships, building skills, mental health, and more!
