This year the World Beat Festival is celebrating Turtle Island; the indigenous peoples of North and South America! Come to Riverfront Park where you can experience the music, dance, food and traditions of over 60 nations and cultures. Things kick off with a Children’s Parade at 9:45 am on Saturday and will continue until Sunday evening. Check out the website here for more information. Community Day in the Park (formerly Citizens Day) is an annual summer event hosted by the City of St. Helens in McCormick Park. Community Day is a day focused on making and strengthening community connections. It’s an opportunity for people to put down their cell phones, turn off the television, and enjoy a day of fun in a local park with friends and family. Activities are family-friendly, free, and designed for a wide age-range. Yearly activities include a free barbeque lunch, live music, lawn games, vendors, and more.
