Kive is a big fan of The Goonies, sports, punk rock music and food. Born in the California Bay Area, he graduated from Astoria High School in 1995 and now lives on the Oregon Coast near Seaside. There, Kive is a member of the ISN community.
Kive and “Brother John” are a fun pair who affectionately refer to themselves as “Chunk” and “Sloth” from The Goonies. Kive is a big fan of other TV shows and movies, including, “Tim the Toolman” (Home Improvement), Scooby-Doo and Jerry Maguire. “Show me the money!” Kive says.
He loves sports. Proud of his Bay Area roots, Kive is a big 49ers fan as well as a fan of the Raiders and San Jose Sharks. He also likes the Portland Trailblazers and went to a game last year with his friend. John is coaching soccer this year and Kive plans to go and watch some of the games and cheer on Coach John. Kive also loves the Oregon Ducks and wants to attend some games in Eugene this season.
In addition to being a sports-watcher, Kive is also a sports-player. He loves to swim and has won medals for swimming. He also competed in the Oregon Special Olympics in 1992 as a runner. He loves all the walking trails available in Oregon.
Kive enjoys punk rock music and even went to San Diego to see some 70s punk rock bands in concert. While in San Diego, he also got to visit the aquarium. He loved the fish tanks.
He enjoys both cooking and eating – well, anything but chocolate. His favorite dish to make is spaghetti and meatballs and calls himself a “big pasta man.” John jokingly calls Kive a “garbage can,” because if the food can fit in his mouth, Kive will eat it!
