    Join People First of Corvallis, a welcoming and inclusive self-advocacy group for individuals in the intellectual and developmental disabilities community. This monthly meeting provides a safe space to connect, share experiences, build skills, and advocate for positive change together. Meetings are held on the fourth Friday of each month from 5:00–6:00 PM at the Corvallis Community Center (Oak Room), 2601 NW Tyler Ave. The space is ADA accessible, and snacks and drinks are provided. Come learn, connect, and make your voice heard!

Participants can build at their own pace, take part in optional themed challenges, and compete for bragging rights in fun build competitions. Whether you're a seasoned builder or just love LEGO, this event is open to all skill levels. Enjoy delicious food and drinks available for purchase while you build.     Get moving and enjoy an afternoon of music at Movement & Music with Zac! This community event welcomes participants of all abilities and encourages everyone to dance, move, and have fun in a relaxed outdoor setting. Join the group on September 27 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Heinie Heumann Park in St. Helens (near the Senior Center off S. 15th Street). All moves are welcome!

    Join Essential Services for a day at the Portland Zoo. This event is free to attend; however, there are limited tickets so you MUST RSVP (see link). Please Note: You must be at the gate on time (no later than 1pm) for entry tickets. Food and drinks will not be provided. You are encouraged to bring a sack lunch. **The zoo does not take cash.** No open toe shoes or flip flops allowed for this event.

  • Sensory Friendly Movie – Forgotten Island (Salem)

    Join the Autism Society of Oregon (sponsored by DSP Connections) for a sensory friendly private screening of Forgotten Island. This is a smaller capacity theatre to allow for less over stimulation. This is a friendly inclusive space accessible to all. There are a limited number of wheelchair seats available. Headphones and fidgets will be available, there will be bean bags for crash pads, weighted plushies to snuggle if needed, sounds will be lower, and there will be a little lighting to make it a more welcoming space. Open captioning will also be provided. No Previews- Movie starts promptly at 6pm.     Programs for Accessible Learning: Spooky Storytime Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their caregivers are invited to come learn, create, and find community! PAL lasts one hour and usually follows this schedule: Sensory-friendly storytime with puppets, songs, and bubbles (15 minutes) October's themed group activity: Dress up in a costume and build your own ghost! (20-30 minutes) Creativity stations (adult coloring pages, Lego building) (15-20 Minutes) All materials provided. Registration is required. Please register each participant. Participants are asked to attend with a caregiver. An American Sign Language interpreter will be present whenever possible. Free. This program is supported by the Salem Public Library Foundation and the Friends of the Salem Public Library. This event will be presented in English.
