A three part Carewell training is required prior to working as a Personal Support Worker. The first is an in-person session and is required to receive your provider number. Once you receive your provider number, you will be able to complete the last two online trainings.

Required Elective Training
8 hrs. Online. Self-Guided. Your choice of elective courses.
Starting March 31, 2026 all personal support workers will need to complete 12 hours of continuing education to renew their provider numbers.

Oregon Home Care Commission (OHCC) works with Oregon State University to provide additional training. PACE is the OHCC’s Learning Management System. There is information on Professional, Enhanced, and Exceptional Certification for PSW’s.
