DESCRIPTION:People with disabilities are often excluded from conversations about emergency preparedness. This includes parents with disabilities who need to keep themselves and their children safe during a disaster. Join Brandeis University as they learn from Shari Myers and Melissa Marshall from the Partnership for Inclusive Disaster Strategies. They will discuss emergency preparedness best practices for disabled parents and their families. Shari and Melissa will talk about building a realistic emergency kit\, sheltering in place while disabled\, and knowing your rights as a disabled person during a disaster. Attendees will also hear from two National Research Center for Parents with Disabilities’ Advisory Board members\, Judy Brown and Morénike Giwa-Onaiwu\, about their personal experiences with emergency preparedness and disaster response. \nThey will be providing ASL and Zoom automated captions. DESCRIPTION:The Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians hosts and invites all to come join & celebrate their annual Nesika Illahee Pow-Wow.  The celebration takes place in the heart of the Siletz reservation in the town of Siletz\, Oregon.  Every summer during the second weekend in August\, Native & Non-Native people from all over the United States & further gather here to take part in the annual Nesika Illahee Pow-Wow. \nFor three days the community\, situated on the central Oregon coast is transformed. On display is traditional dancing\, drumming\, and singing from all over Indigenous America and further.  The gathering has an array of vendors that represents the many facets of Indigenous American Arts\, Crafts and Cuisine. The Pauline Ricks Memorial Pow-Wow grounds on Government Hill becomes the beating heart of our community. \nThe Nesika Illahee Pow-Wow is a Drug and alcohol-free event.
